After a moderate game, Chesterfield Municipal defeated Leeds United by two goals to nothing at Elland Road in the prescence of 5,000 spectators. The
Chesterfield defence was superior to that of the United, whose backs, although tackling fearlessly, kicked in a rapid style. Kemp who scored both goals for
Chesterfield and McPherson were the pick of the Municipal forwards, whose combination proved very effective in the closing stages of the game.
